Her work is meticulous, curated, and effortless, reflecting a dedication to precision that resonates both online and in the studio. We sat down with Jamie to explore her journey, her signature brow philosophy, and why she’s redefining what it means to create beauty in the digital age.

Jamie’s path into beauty was unconventional. “I started a little later than most,” she admits. “I always knew I wanted to be in the industry, but after finishing school, moving to a new city made me hesitant. I put it on hold.” It wasn’t until 21 that she began studying beauty, funding her education independently. Her first role in a salon was challenging: “I was thrown in at the deep end, performing treatments I didn’t feel fully confident with. But every client, every brow, taught me resilience and precision.”

It quickly became clear where her talent lay, saying “Brows became my niche. Transforming overplucked brows into soft, natural, and fuller shapes was incredibly rewarding – especially for older clients who never imagined they could have beautiful, polished brows.” Realising the traditional salon environment wasn’t her long-term fit, Jamie took the bold step of going mobile, building her business from the ground up. “I left with zero clients and had to start again on the road,” she recalls. “It taught me independence, adaptability, and the importance of creating a truly personalised experience for each of my clients.”

“Social media was never a comfort zone, “I posted the minimum and thought I was doing okay,” she admits, but during lockdown she launched her YouTube channel, Huyana Beauty, guided by her partner, Corey: “I didn’t want to be on camera at first. I felt awkward and convinced I wasn’t good at social media, but the response was incredible – people genuinely connected with the content, and I realised I could inspire confidence and teach through my work.” Within a few years, she earned her YouTube Silver Play Button for surpassing 100k subscribers, marking the beginning of a dedicated content journey. Today, she devotes a full day each week to content creation, and brands she once dreamed of working with reach out for collaborations.

But Jamie’s philosophy extends beyond technique, it’s about creating an experience: “I wanted a signature style, a luxury brow treatment,” she explains. “Clients should feel like they’ve stepped into a sanctuary. Every detail, from start to finish is precise, considered and calm.” Her favourite transformations? Brow lamination clients who arrive with barely-there brows, she said “Seeing them leave with confidence and brows almost double their original size – it just never gets old.”

Make no mistake, like every beauty professional Jamie has faced her share of challenges. Juggling clients, content creation, Brow Masterclasses and renovating her first home was no small feat. Through it all, her partner Corey has been unwavering – filming, editing, and co-managing the channel alongside her has meant “working together has its challenges, but it’s strengthened us and allowed the channel to flourish.” Jamie draws inspiration from fellow brow artists: “Seeing their work pushes me out of my comfort zone,” she says. “Without that inspiration, I wouldn’t have launched my masterclasses.”

Her advice to new brow artists? “Never compare your day one to someone else’s day 100, and remember, success doesn’t mean working every evening or weekend, the right clients will fit around you.”
