With British professional beauty brands like Buff Browz gaining traction overseas, the U.S. market has embraced a new wave of artistry, one that blends innovation, education, and inclusivity. At the forefront of this movement is Angela Tran, the American brow and beauty expert known to her followers as @browsbyanggg.
A luxury travelling brow artist, educator, and entrepreneur, Angela has built a brand rooted in authenticity, confidence, and craft. We caught up with her to discuss her journey, the rise of U.S. brow trends, and the products she can’t live without.
1. Let’s start with your story – how did your journey into brow artistry begin, and what led you to become a luxury travelling brow artist?
“My journey began about five years ago, right as the world of brows was really starting to take off. Growing up, I struggled with uneven and sparse brows – fixing them gave me such a boost of confidence, and I knew I wanted to help others feel that same way.
I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, and later returned home to Portland, Oregon, where I spent the first four years of my career perfecting my craft. It was a lot of trial and error – testing different techniques and brands until I found my own signature style. That process led me to partner with incredible names like Buff Browz.
By 2025, I started sharing my journey on social media, which allowed me to build a clientele in Portland and connect with other artists around the world.”
2. You’ve worked in some incredible locations, how has travelling shaped your approach to beauty and your relationship with clients?
“Travel has always been part of my lifestyle. Once I began working as a travelling brow artist, I quickly realised how much different climates and environments affect the results of brow treatments.
Working with clients across the U.S. has shown me that beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. Each place, and each person, has its own aesthetic. I’ve learned to adapt my artistry to different features, skin tones, and styles while enhancing every client’s natural beauty.”
3. What are some of the biggest brow trends you’re seeing across the U.S.? Are there any regional differences?
“Right now, I’m seeing a big shift toward brow mapping and soft structure, clients want to find their ideal shape while keeping things natural and low-maintenance.
We’re definitely moving away from the bold, overly sculpted look and into brows that frame the face beautifully without feeling heavy. In cities, clients tend to prefer something a little more defined and sleek, while in smaller towns, people often want that effortless, everyday brow.”
4. How do you balance staying on top of trends while maintaining your own signature style?
“For me, it starts with knowing your signature style first. Trends come and go, but your style is what makes your work recognisable.
Continuing education is essential, learning new techniques keeps you inspired and helps you evolve without losing your brand identity. The goal isn’t to copy trends but to interpret them in a way that still feels true to your artistry.”

5. What are your most requested brow services right now? Have client preferences evolved recently?
“Right now, my go-to service is Signature Brows, which includes mapping, waxing, tinting, and custom styling. Clients are leaning toward low-maintenance looks that simplify their routines.
When brow lamination first exploded, everyone wanted that bold, brushed-up look, but now, with the rise of soft glam, more clients are returning to natural, polished brows they can wear every day.”
6. What are your current must-have brow products – you know, the ones you never travel without?
“I’m obsessed with Buff Browz and Brow Daddy Hybrid Dyes. For Buff Browz, I especially love their cysteamine lamination system, brow mapping essentials, styling products, and brow care range.
No single brand can do it all – I believe in building a curated back bar that delivers flawless finishes and long-lasting results for every client.”
7. What advice would you give to aspiring brow artists who dream of building a global, luxury brand like yours?
“Focus on perfecting your craft in the early days. It’s so easy to compare yourself to others on social media, but remember, every experienced artist started somewhere.
Spend time building your skills and developing your authentic style. The first four years of my career were all about practice, growth, and client relationships, and that foundation made everything possible.

Be patient, stay consistent, and trust that your hard work will shine through. You can truly build the career, and life, you dream of.”
As Angela continues to travel the world sharing her artistry, she remains rooted in the same mission that started it all, helping others feel confident in their own skin. From Fairbanks to Portland and beyond, her story is proof that when passion meets purpose, beauty knows no borders.
