TRIED AND TESTED: PIPPA OF LONDON

There’s no denying that many of us still subscribe to the “more is more” philosophy when it comes to our makeup bags. So, when a new independent brand lands on our desk promising high performance, ease, and a less-is-more ethos, we take note. Enter: Pippa of London,  a brand that’s not only making waves with its quality-focused, cruelty-free formulations, but also proudly manufactures its products right here in the UK.

“No fuss, just fab high-performance beauty, made easy.”

From the moment I opened the first product, I knew this was going to be a standout trial. I started with the Magic Star Eyeshadow Pencil, and let’s just say the name doesn’t lie, magic it truly is. With a soft, bronzed glitter tone and incredibly lightweight feel, this pencil delivered on both pigment and comfort. It’s one of the lightest shadow products I’ve used, yet it held its own in both colour payoff and staying power. Bonus points for ease of use, it is no fuss, no fall-out and there’s no need for a brush.

But of course, as any editor knows, the real test starts at the brows and Pippa’s Signature Brow Pencil didn’t disappoint. This classic-style pencil (yes, the kind you sharpen) comes with a built-in spoolie, making it a great all-in-one tool. The application is soft and buildable, giving a natural finish that can still mimic hair strokes with a light hand. While it doesn’t deliver the ultra-sharp micro finish of a fine-tipped pencil, it creates a beautiful, fluffy brow that feels modern and wearable.

Next up was the Matte High Impact Lipstick, and this formula feels like luxury in a tube. Packed with vitamin E, shea butter, and bamboo extract, it’s as nourishing as it is long-lasting. I tested shade 433, Desire, a deep, rich brown that glided on beautifully and felt hydrating without compromising on pigment. It’s already earned a permanent spot in my A/W makeup bag.

What stands out most about Pippa of London is the effortlessness of it all. These are products that do what they promise: perform. But beyond that, they feel considered, from their skin-loving ingredients to their commitment to cruelty-free, ethical production. This is beauty that subtly enhances, not hides. Thoughtful formulas, UK-made, and perfect for real life.

Pippa of London proves that great makeup doesn’t have to be complicated.
