It’s easy to assume that brow transformations are reserved for the young, but the truth is, some of the most powerful and transformative brow work happens later in life. And according to Stanley Lupson founder of Lupson Brows, “It’s never too late to start your brow journey.”
As we age, our brows naturally change. They become thinner, sparser, and often lose their original shape and pigment. Coarser textures, greying hairs, and even asymmetry can become more pronounced over time, but these changes don’t mean the end of your brow story. In fact, with the right approach, they’re just the beginning of a whole new era.

When working with mature clients, Stanley takes a refined, tailored approach. “It’s all about enhancing, not overpowering,” he says. “I’m always mindful of keeping things soft while still lifting and framing the face. The goal is to elevate the client while helping them feel like the best version of themselves – not someone completely different.”
That philosophy carries through in every step of the process. Custom tinting is used to gently neutralise greys and create harmony with skin tone and hair colour. Lamination, when appropriate, can give a natural-looking lift and the illusion of fullness without adding stress to fragile hairs. And shaping is approached with a light hand, with it being less about creating bold lines and more about working with the client’s natural growth and bone structure. Regular brow maintenance becomes especially important after fifty. Not only does it keep brows tidy and symmetrical, but it also contributes to a fresher, more lifted appearance overall.
Brows play such a key role in facial balance,” Stanley explains. “A good shape can open up the eyes, soften the features, and restore a sense of structure. It’s a subtle shift that makes a huge impact. I always say: brow laminations before Botox.”
When it comes to creating the most flattering transformation, his go-to technique is to gently lift the tail of the brow while keeping the front soft and natural. This subtle lift can open up the entire eye area without ever looking harsh or overdone. Definition is created with light feathering, delicate tinting, and strategic blending.

Stanley had one particularly memorable transformation that came from a client who had just turned 80. “She’d never had her brows done before. She gets her hair done in the salon next door and always admired our clients’ brows, but thought she was too old for it to make a difference. Her brows had lost their shape and colour over the years, but we did a soft lamination, a custom tint, and gently shaped them to lift her eyes. I finished with a subtle highlight under the brow bone. When she looked in the mirror, she couldn’t believe the difference. That moment – that look of surprise and joy – is exactly why I do what I do.”
So, if you’ve ever looked in the mirror and wondered if your brows are past the point of saving, let this be your sign: they’re not.
Whether you’re 50 or 85, your brows still matter, and the right touch can bring them back to life in the most elegant, age-appropriate way. Afterall, beauty doesn’t have an expiration date. And neither do great brows.
